Tokyo Station and Marunouchi half-day course
A calm route in the centre of Tokyo, Japan: the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, lunch in Marunouchi and a free museum beside Tokyo Station.
10:00 — East Gardens of the Imperial Palace
Enter from Otemon Gate and spend 60–90 minutes around the garden and former castle grounds. Admission is generally free. The gardens normally close on Mondays and Fridays, with other closures possible; check the Imperial Household Agency calendar and last-entry time.

12:00 — Lunch in Marunouchi
Walk towards Marunouchi Naka-dori or Tokyo Station. Allow roughly ¥1,200–¥2,000 and decide in advance whether you prefer the Tokyo Station or Otemachi side.

This free museum occupies floors 2 and 3 of KITTE, about one minute from Tokyo Station’s Marunouchi South Exit. Opening days and hours can change for maintenance or exhibition work, so check the current calendar.

15:00 — Tokyo Station Marunouchi Square
Finish with a view of the historic station building and square, or allow ¥500–¥800 for a café break.
Optional — Fukutoku Shrine
If you still have energy, continue to Nihonbashi Muromachi. Mitsukoshimae Station is the convenient subway stop. Check current goshuin reception hours if that is part of your plan.

Check garden closures, museum opening dates and shrine reception information on the official websites. In heavy rain, skip the gardens and use the underground passages around Tokyo Station and Marunouchi.
